Mathematical Model for lung function measurements in asthmatic children
نویسنده
چکیده
Hazard rate of the Inverse Gaussian distribution is utilized for finding the critical maximum of the curves which are described in the application part. Here lung function measurements (FEV1) during the four study days in children with exercise challenge, histamine challenge and on control day were analyzed. The curves are analyzed by using the Mathematical Model and the results have been obtained which gives clear report to the medical professionals.

The aims of this study were to investigate lung function in 2-5-yr-old stable asthmatic children consecutively referred from general practitioners and to analyse the outcome on the basis of their requirement for antiasthmatic treatment and symptoms after 1.6-4.5 yrs. Lung function was measured in 110 children with a mean+/-SD age of 3.8+/-1.0 yrs using the interruptor technique (resistance asse...
متن کاملDo Statins Improve Lung Function in Asthmatic Patients? A Randomized and Double-Blind Trial
There are evidences that statins have anti-inflammatory effects beyond their cholesterol lowering properties. The study was conducted to assess the effects of atorvastatin on asthma as an inflammatory disease. Patients with moderate to severe asthma were entered this randomized, double blind, crossover clinical trial. The impact of oral atorvastatin (10 mg/day) on the lung function of nor...
متن کاملEffects of Sodium Cromoglycate on Iranian Asthmatic Subjects Without Exposure to any Bronchoconstrictor agent
Cromolyn sodium, a mast cell stabilizing agent, provides an immediate protective effect against the exercise-induced bronchoconstriction while being used before the exercise. However, cromolyn is ineffective in reversing asthmatic bronchospasm; it is used as a maintenance therapy and has a prophylactic role in chronic asthma. The purpose of this study was to determine the extent of change...
متن کاملDetermination the Role of Endothelial Cell-Specific Molecule-1(ESM-1) in Childhood Bronchial Asthma
Background Endothelial Cell-Specific Molecule-1 (ESM-1) is a 50 kDa soluble proteoglycan that is produced mainly the vascular endothelial cells of the kidney and lung. It is produced by the effects of proangiogenic and pro-inflammatory cytokines, and it indicates activation and dysfunction of the vascular endothelium. We aimed to detect the role of ESM-1 in childre...
